Medical disclaimer
Last updated 7 November 2026
Hold is not medical advice and not a medical device. It does not tell you how to take, lower, stop or restart any medicine. Talk to your doctor or prescriber about all of that.
What Hold is
Hold is a self-tracking tool. It records the weights and answers you enter, smooths your weigh-ins into a trend, compares the trend with the goal you set, and shows a simple checklist of everyday habits: protein, walking and strength work. The protein figure is a general guide of 1.2 to 1.6 grams per kilogram of goal weight. It is not a prescription and may not suit you.
What Hold is not
- Hold is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
- Hold never tells you how to take, change, lower, stop or restart any medicine. Talk to your doctor or prescriber about all of that, including when and how to stop.
- Hold does not set calorie targets and does not suggest eating below safe levels.
- A colour on the screen (green, amber or red) describes your own weight trend against your own goal. It is not a health assessment.
Who should not use Hold
Hold is not for people under 18, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people who have had an eating disorder. If that is you, please talk to your doctor first.
If tracking your weight makes you anxious, makes you restrict food, or you notice that you are thinking about food and weight more than you would like, stop using Hold and talk to your doctor.
